VrittIQ takes data protection, privacy, accessibility, and security seriously. This page explains the regulatory frameworks we work under, how we use cookies, and how we keep your data safe.
1. UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018
We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We follow the data-protection principles set out in Article 5:
- Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency
- Purpose limitation — data collected for specified, explicit purposes
- Data minimisation — only what we need
- Accuracy — kept up to date and corrected promptly
- Storage limitation — kept only as long as necessary
- Integrity and confidentiality — appropriate security
- Accountability — we can demonstrate compliance
For full details on the data we collect and how we handle it, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help websites remember your preferences and gather information about how a site is used.
Cookies We Use
- Essential / Functional cookies — required for the site to work. These store your cookie consent choice (so we don't show the banner repeatedly) and are set without consent because they are strictly necessary.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — set only after you accept cookies via the consent banner. These help us understand which pages people visit, so we can improve content. We use IP anonymisation. Cookies set:
_ga,_ga_*, with retention of up to 24 months.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
Your Cookie Choices
When you first visit the site you are presented with a consent banner. You can either accept all cookies or reject non-essential ones. To change your choice later, clear your browser's site data for vrittiq.co.uk and reload the page — the banner will reappear.
You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings:
Note that disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.
3. Sub-processors
We rely on the following third parties to operate our website. Each is contractually bound to protect personal data:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics) — website analytics
- Microsoft Azure — website hosting via Static Web Apps
- Bitbucket (Atlassian) — source-code hosting and deployment pipeline
4. Accessibility
We aim to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. Where we fall short, we treat accessibility issues as bugs and prioritise them accordingly. Specific commitments:
- Semantic HTML and proper heading hierarchy
- Sufficient colour contrast on text and interactive elements
- Keyboard-navigable interactive elements
- Alt text on meaningful images
- Responsive design that works at 320px and up
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please email contact@vrittiq.co.uk with the page URL and a description. We aim to respond within five working days.
5. Security
We use industry-standard practices to keep your data safe:
- TLS encryption for all data in transit (HTTPS-only)
- Access control — personal data is restricted to authorised personnel
- Vendor due diligence — we review our processors' security practices and DPAs
- Regular updates — dependencies and infrastructure are kept current
- Incident response — we report eligible data breaches to the ICO within 72 hours and to affected individuals where required
